Here's the link to the steam kb article that explains how to do it. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5151-RUAS-1543 tl dr; Steam will send an email to "your" verified email address to confirm that you want to change your login details before actually changing them. Please note this is a good thing.
