    	    <description><![CDATA[I had a similar thing where I ubered someone and on my screen they were ubered but clearly they weren't because they then died after like 5 seconds of uber and my heal beam just got stuck in the air where they died for the rest of the map. I think that happened twice and i had to switch class to fix it.]]></description>

it could depend on the setting you have like 
medigun continues healing without holding fire button (I have enabled it)
display a marker over the player you are healing (I have disabled it)

anyway just pressing mouse1 again when on the target fixed the problem for me]]></description>
