Cleaning out your CPU/HS won't improve its performance, it will just help heat related issues.

If lowering the graphical settings doesn't improve your performance, it is related to your CPU. Clean out your heatsink, reformatting/defragging/re-installing tf2 wouldn't go amiss either.

First thing I'd do is try play another game you have installed and see if the problem is the same for that. Then you will know if its a problem with your system or a TF2 only related issue.

Also, have you tried any of these?

- fuck about with cfg's
- verify & defrag game files
- defrag hdd
- checked drivers/updated
- re-install tf2

Hello everyone,

I require some assistance, I hope you can (will) help me.

A few weeks ago I started having serious fps problems. I used to have 150 fps on middle with full graph, (like badlands, granary), but suddenly, it decreased to 30. I have no idea what happend, so I just changed the graph to ultra low, but didnt help at all, its still 30-40, wawes like hell, making the game unplayable (it shouldn't be that awful with 30-40 fps, its like having 10).

And so, I dont know what to do, I hope there is someone who can help me. Any idea?
