Hit beeps would be mostly useful for soldiers, obviously... :X

you can tell if you hit or not as scout.

When you're playing with a ping difference of 70-100+ and at least one connection is suffering some packet loss you wont be able to tell if you've hit or not.

The game might assume you've hit a full bodyshot but the damage done would be far less.

Hitsounds that work like the current combat text in terms of being able to see your enemy would work.

Hitsounds would do just fine - would be using instead of numbers if it was an option. Anyway I don't agree this has anything to do with the skill ceiling. It just removes some randomness which is mainly a good thing. You should be able to get a trustworthy feedback whether the shot hit or not. The visualization can't be trusted and the screams are not any more exact.

People are used to estimate the hits needed to frag an opponent. now it's only more accurate. You can't claim the estimation is about the skill since visual feedback is inaccurate in many cases.
