Also go into settings and make sure all your input devices are the right sound card if for example you have two.

Try turning your outbound as well.]]></description>

    	    <description><![CDATA[Okay, so I just bought a new mic which works fine in mumble and shockvoice which ive also tried it in.

However, in Vent it just doesn't make any sound whatsoever. I've tried reinstalling and installing again loads of times with no luck..

Vent works on my laptop with its inbuilt mic and ive checked settings side by side and they are exactly the same. Any obvious thing i might have mucked up? :)
