That's true, but it's also potentially quite useful as it should now be an unbelievably easy way for clans that want to issue their comms with their demos to do so (e.g. in order to help mentor/distribute knowledge to the community as a whole). I really enjoyed watching the demos Jaeger made with Loaded's mumble comms on mp3 and the new convar should make it very easy for other teams to do the same if they so wish :)

Yeah this'd be great to have in the config for no other reason than if someone drops from mumble during a match you can just switch to using in-game comms on the fly without them having to tab out and restart mumble etc. I'm sure it'd also be useful for pub clans just dipping their toes into the waters of competitive play who might not have got themselves a mumble/vent server yet :)

Thing is(ill take israel as an example since its somthing I can relate to),if an israeli playes with a european team(happens alot) or just playing @ mumble from abroad, will the mumble still have better latency than ingame? Cause I guess then when playing with a server and players from your country(like an israeli gather) its acctualy better if you'd use ingame comms..

And im not hte biggest knower about latency,I dident know the latency of the ingame voice chat is higher then the mumble's... that pretty much takes it out of the equation.

ahaha, I have not said, that you live in desert or smthing bad.
I've played alot of pcws with Israel teams and they always had 100-200 pings =(

We dont use same server for mumble and tf2. We have about 5-20ms latency for mumble and 60< for tf2 (in the best conditions). So the choice is obvious.

If you use mumble with 200 ms latency, you might die before you can even scream "SCOOOOOUT FROM BEHIND!!" =)
