Seems to suggest that fov is hfov (not vfov as is usual), and that widescreen images are cropped.

No, not in TF2. If you have a 16:9 ratio and set your fov to 90 through the settings, you're actually playing with about a 106 fov - it's only at 4:3 that you have the exact same that it says in the settings. So a 5:4 player really has about 85 fov.

And by the way thank god Valve added to the option to play with 90 fov, the default 75 is absolutely horrible and not good for anything.

So what if people act differently? Isn't that the point? It's not an argument at all.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't make the game fun for someone else. In games that have the feature, I prefer to use it, because it makes the game more fun. No more frustrating deaths when you were sure you made more damage than you actually did due to lag or view blocked by rocket trails or some other stupid reason.

Hitsounds aren't so much about getting new information, but more about making the current information (grunts) more accurate, so it doesn't fool you to make stupid decisions. To me it seems more like a fix to the grunt sounds.

It's not fair for a demoman to stand in one choke in bandlands, spam the other one, and be able to know that someone is hiding/approaching because he hears a beep. Grunts work well because u can only hear them if you close enough to also hear the nade's explode too, it's environmental.

If your view is blocked by rocket trails, how could you aim 100% sure you're gonna hit? I'm ok with taking chances, but if you decide to shoot based on 50% sure you'll hit, you should not be rewarded by an 100% confirmation all the times. This only favors spam.
