I don't mind playing vs the likes of havok because despite his high ping he is still reg'able like most other players. If I shoot him on my client I'm confident the server will register the damage I expect based on the visual/audible feedback I get through my screen and headphones.

Compare that to playing vs eastern european players from russia and some neighbouring countries with shit connections warping around the screen where I often feel cheated by the game because my percieved damage from clientside viewpoint doesnt remotely match the damage the server is applying to the player.

For me though playing vs high ping and equally players using high interp can be counter-intuitive even when their internet connections are fine. Actually I think its much worse to play against a high interp (0.1) player who has low ping than it is to play vs a high pinger such as havok who uses low interp.

At least vs havok he gets the disadvantages Arx commented on which counteracts the primary advantage of seeing his opponents out of sync with what they are doing on their own client, making opponents movement and dodging less well timed (from his perspective) and as such less effective.

I hate playing vs high interp players though. I'd go as far as to say that as a scout I do worse vs a mid skill high interp soldier with average aim than I do vs a high+ skill, low interp soldier with incredible aim, simply because playing vs high interp makes dodging rockets much harder. Opponents with interp 0.1 are essentially seeing my movement lagged 100ms behind where it is on my own client, fucking up my timing and making it easier for them to hit me.

It's most obvious as scout where vs some soldiers (regardless of ping) I have to dodge what seems like twice as far from rockets as usual to avoid taking damage. Most of the time these are lower skill players who presumably have left interp at default and I honestly often find it harder to play vs them than high skill soldiers with low interp.

I 100% agree there is a large skill gap between a division 1 TEAM and a division 2 TEAM
