Beta,

I can't even be arsed to argue with them, their customer service line is never available. I've read on the eve online forums people (non steam) complaining about them, I've read on the steam forums and the tiscali official forums also.

They seem to be treating online games in the same way as torrents. Any isp that operates under this policy I simply don't won't any thing to do with.

If I wasn't using them I'd find it funny as well to be honest. How did the meeting go when they brewed up that stroke of genius? I'm sure this is the plan to global domination (lol).

edit - gah I hate this avatar lottery.

It's textook false economy from Tiscali.

Not sure where you read this but I am on Nildram, which was taken over by Tiscali some time ago.

Never a problem with ports, speed (up & down) any time of the day.

I am on a 12mb line down and around 850kbps up - any time of the day. Have you tried giving them a call and explaining? Obviously I have only ever spoken to the Nildram customer service end but I imagine Tiscali wouldn't be too different?

Tiscali and the ISP's they own (bulldog, toucan and a load of others I can't remember) have decided to block the ports Steam uses during 'peak hours' (5pm - 12 pm).

It took me a while to realise that it wasn't a local problem with my firewall/router and now others are catching on.

I'm leaving them asap, just giving people a heads up in case they ever decided to use them or couldn't use steam and didn't realise why.
