but as 'berserking god' said, u should talk to the original creator first. Actually u should ask him to do the map for you too because learning hammer etc. takes it's time and providing him (or any other mapper) with drawings and ideas to make it an arena would probably save alot of time.

EDIT: creator's name on fpsbanana is 'eni'

You can decompile it quite easily. I don't think Valve would mind if you give the original creator full credit, and just say you've modified his map, instead of saying that you've made it.

edit: But the best way would probably be to contact the original creator on FPSBanana.com or something and ask him for permission to create an arena version of it, and ensure that you'll give him credit.

1) I would play it.
2) It's Valve property now. You can de-compile it, but Valve won't like it. So, making it from scratch seems the only option.(However, if you de-compile it, you will probably run into lots of bugs)

While pubbing some steel the other day I realised that the end point before the bridge goes up is possibly the most fun area in any map in the game. So I was thinking for a map taking the layout of this point, letting players walk the whole way round the outside and putting spawns a short distance from it but round corners.

There will be two medium ammo boxes around the outside of the point and a full ammo refill on the point. When the point activates the Bridges will move across but the barriers on the bridges and point will not raise.

What I'm wondering is this...

1. Do you think this map would work and be fun to play
2. Is there a way of cut and pasting from steel or would i have to make the whole thing from scratch?
