@Illner:

run -dxdiag and go to the menu of Sound1. ;)

if you disable this function you have to set up your soundcfg for e.g. winamp and avs etc. because they probably still want to use directsound which would lead to soundloops and lags.

don't forget mumble, ventrilo or teamspeak. ;)

If you have low fps, lower your graphic settings and don’t look for a “high-fps-config”

You cannot set dx 8.1 in-game without using console commands.
There are several other graphic-tweaks that can only be used with console. Sure, I could look for every single one and type them into console manually - but why not use a good fps-config then? ;)

ye GeaR, my graphics are on low.. and without a fps-cfg i would play with like 25fps constantly and with m0re's cfg 50-60fps constantly so it changes very much :)

maybe someone should contact valve and report this bug? :/

One of my clanmates has also problems since the update came out.
There's one thing I can't understand: the whole config-thing. I mean, you install the game, change some commands to different keys and there you go. If you have low fps, lower your graphic settings and don't look for a "high-fps-config" -.- That's my suggestion to you kevnx.

I have also had the same problem since the last update.
I actually also have had some problem with the sound, so it might have something to do with the soundcard as Ouch says.

Ouch, how do I "disable directsound in the directx-settings" ?

its just a little hint for you. ;) had nearly the same problems and it cost me about 2 months to get things back working again. just saying that in my case the fps-drops were caused by the soundcard even i haven't noticed any soundproblems ingame and in general.

just give it a try. maybe it works for you aswell. ;)

btw. check m0res config.

make sure you don't have mat_queue_mode -1 anywhere in your config, cause that means you enable multicore support. Make it a -2 and you should be fine (in case this is actually caused by multicore support)
