Also need to mention, for a shitload of time Versus mode was in tf2lobby style, and just recently Valve added Team Versus, where you form a party, find a competent opponent and stuff like that. And it's considering how small their competitive community is.
This is a great idea as a low level enter to competitive play (unlike tf2lobby where you most of the time forced to play with randoms against randoms, and, eh, noobie mixes, which are also too complicated). Valve are super slow as always, and I get impression it's a bit late now, but better than never.]]></description>

I'm pretty sure L4D had the option to run on community based servers and therefore you're not bound to play on a valve server. if you find valve servers shit, then you have the option to play on the "e-thug's competetive public server"

Its a way around it, but yet not a bulletproof plan, Atleast its worth something.]]></description>
