This. Anybody else noticed the difference between the Engies original lines and lines brought in during the Engineer update. As good as game voice actors are they can't keep the same consistent voice over and over again -- they're not robots, ffs. Anyway, same thing here plus what Racio says: You can't expect a similar tone of voice from in the midst of battle to the (relative) calm of a Poker club.
