Alright, after some emails with Steam support ("Update drivers! etc) I was told to delete the whole steamappps/YOURACCOUNTHERE/team fortress folder and then let steam re-download any missing files via the "Verify game cache" thingy.

Well, it worked. Deleting the old files seems to play an important role in verifying them... whatever. It worked, and thats the only important thing here. ^^

Props to steam support!

@vanadium: Demos broken after an update aren't the issue. Even if I don't close the gam between recording and viewing a demo file, it doesnt work.

@tesla: Uhm... woot?!

Anyways, tried with a mate's POV demo - could view it without issues. But when another friend tried viewing MY POV demo, he got the hl.exe crash as well. :S

Apparently I can record broken demos!!1! o/

And I don't have a clue why, wonderful.

Also tried recording manually (without p-rec) - didn't work.

I'll try and cleanup the cfg, although I didn't change a thing for months. My demos just suddenly went broke...
