I like the part where you imply that "valve" doing the port will mean that nothing will go wrong. 

anyway i wouldnt worry. the linux nerds are saying it will be out by the end of the summer. a quick glance at my "valve-time-translator" shows that a more accurate estimate would be sometime mid july

Somebody needs to learn when I'm trolling about relative Mac performance.

That's correct (at least, I would assume they will use OpenGL on nix, not actually heard about it), but OpenGL is only half of the story.]]></description>

    	    <description><![CDATA[Yeah like others said, If I was you I would wait. I had steam+tf2 working using wine (had to install few fonts, some dx files etc) however it is not worth the hassle because like skyride said you will not get same or even similar performance on linux due to dx technology requirement (mainly). 

Best is to wait for native steam client and source engine executables for linux / unix based system (shouldn't  be long now since mac osx is unix based).

Dont worry - you are not alone :) I am also waiting to format my drive and keep linux as my only/ main OS :)]]></description>
