Anyway, the reasons why it has been like this: - Opening a link in a new tab requires 0 extra input. (Just middle mouse or ctrl click or mouse gesture click or whatever you want) - As Skyride pointed out, opening links in a new tab by default takes away choice. Now you can easily choose whether to open it in the same tab or in a new one, without any overhead. (see previous point)
I know there has been threads about this before. The bigger reason to change it ! I am not going to make a huge argument about this, cause as you say; its not that hard to hold control or mousewheel. 9/10 times I want to return to ETF2L after hitting a link. Saying it takes away choices is kinda weird. Since opening in new tab gives you more options the way I see it. And a big fuck off to IE6. No we dont, first of all: It dont take one hour it take like 5 minutes to do this, second of all it really should be open in a new window if you leave the site from etf2l, this should in my eyes have been done a long time ago.
