This is the first Canalzone from 2008, and yes it was unbalanced and unsuitable for Highlander play. But I'm talking about Canalzone2_beta, a tweeked version that is pretty different, and not just visually.

cp_indulge for HL. If you don't want cz2, at least indulge :)

Why am I not surprised.
There was already an arena cup, a vaccinator cup, a quickfix cup and a ctf cup, so why not a domination cup ? And since Standin is meh, Canalzone2 was a better choice.

The last suggestion was made in late 2008, so I assume it's safe to post a new one.

For those of you who played TFC or even QWTF, you may still remember the domination map CZ: it is a domination mode map, but unlike Standin, there are more points, that cap faster, and increment a team "domination score". The more CPs you hold, the more points you’ll get over time for your domination score. The first team to reach a score of 100%, or to hold all the points for 20 seconds wins.

The first, "oldschool" version of Canalzone, made for tf2 by Vilepickle in 2008, was played in HL S7 of ugc. But this version showed that 8 points was too much, even for 9v9, and that Red had a sizable map advantage.

Canalzone2 (beta4) has kept the 6 points closest to the "centre" of the map (if I recall, boat house and the side storage where removed). It also greatly improved the general balance (you're no longer screwed if you are Blu) and is overall quite different.

CZ2 was also made by Vilepickle, based on the feedback gathered after the UGC season. UGC Discussion

Download for the curious ones :http://www.vilepickle.com/creations/maps/canalzone2.

The advantage of a fun cup is that only motivated teams willing to play a something fairly different will be interested, as I don't see this being included in a full season any time soon.
