I'm pretty sure about consumables that are activated by mouse1, but i could be wrong, however i'm 100% sure about the Eureka effect and Kritz at least.

Doesn't matter if you eat your sandvich by using mouse1 or taunting, you'll still have a 60% chance of doing the "Thriller" taunt" during full moon, this applies to all items that have a useful taunt, save the Amputator.

Are you 100% sure on this? Because I've never encountered the Thriller taunt blocking a useful consumable, as long as I've activated it with Mouse1 instead of the taunt key.

You are the first person to complain about this.

In either case, there is nothing ETF2L can do about it right now. At the time being, you cannot disable or override the global Full Moon event in any way.

It came to my attention that during the holiday mode the Heavies edible items, Scouts edible items, the Eureka Effect, the Kritzkrieg and the Phlogistinators Mmmph and taunt kill taunts have a 60% chance of failing, with the holiday "thriller" taunt done instead, that affects gameplay in a bad way, and making the usage of the taunts on those items near useless and "luck based".
The tf_forced_holiday has only 3 options, default, holiday mode and birthday mode, i'm not sure if the birthday mode overrides holiday mode (it's not full moon in tf2 atm, so nobody can check), but if it does there should be an option to enable it during etf2l official games if both teams agree. However if the "birthday mode" doesn't override the holiday one, we can try messaging valve in order to have on option of tf_forced_holiday to disable the holiday mode completely, or to disable the "Thriller" taunt on items that have useful taunts. This is somewhat important as the engineer not saving him with the eureka effect, a heavy dying because of taunting instead of refilling his health, or medic dying from afterburn with the kritzkrieg can cost your team a lot, with generally not being able to drink your bonk or doing the taunts mentioned before is really anoying, especially when you fail to do them many times in a row.
