if you like the bad graphics looks, why not.

Also one thing (pretty much personal pref) that you should (test) to enable is motion blur. Everything feels a bit smoother for me, and it feels like you have more fps. Ive heard various people disagree and agree with me. 
Look for "mat_motion_blur_enabled"

Dont forget to read the instructions for the config etc

edit: I meant you might get one or two more frames from the maxframes if you use it instead of highframes. You wont gain max fps by using the dx9 config</blockquote>

motionblur decreases fps quite alot, i find it quite hard to aim when your scanning around or targeting fast moving enemies. but yer motion blur can hide the stuttering effect of low fps]]></description>
