I don't get it. Why are the CSS kids crying? If their game is so wonderful and popular, why is this one particular competition of such importance? I understand why it's important to the TF2 as it is commonly overlooked, but surely there are bucket loads of decent prize pots out there in CSS competition and UKeSA is just another one?

This was the turning point for TF2.

Lol there really is some idiots on cadred
" pete-Layo

If this league was ever going to be more than a jumped up enemydown then it needs q3 and 1.6, as far as I've seen it's no different to anything else aside from the prize money. When I saw gov support I assumed that meant financially not a limp piece of paper saying LOL we support you.

Is it not obvious that the q3 signups would be low due to the age of the scene and the fact it's a duel game, i.e. Instead of having 3 teams sign up and getting 15+ players 3 team reps would amount to 3 players, yes.

The fact that tf2 teams managed to sign up all their huge rosters is great but it's not a secret that the tf2 scene isn't that big (and I'm talking about importance to gaming as a whole, I mean the game is basically cartoon bf2 with specialist classes that all use quake style weapons slightly modified... And everone gets a shotgun). If the xciteuk community can get number one in the eu at any point then just SIGH"

To which i replied

"LOL why talk about somthing you have no idea about.

1. How in gods name is it like bf2? Just because it uses classes (like many other games) its considered to be BF2 LOL. Thats like saying quake1 is like monkey island because theres people in it.

2. Q3 being a duel game has also nothing to do with it, Fifa is a "duel game" and they managed to get enough signups? Your points are misinformed lol and i guess your just some bitter quake player.

3. Too my knowledge xciteuk have never been nr.1 in the eu unless maybe they were the first clan to form in TF2.

Long live TF2, such an underrated game with an excellent community of non-idiots and helpfull people, just hope this dosnt make all the cs 14 year olds come over to our fair game ;)"

play your games, have your fun - the game itself is a better spectator sport - there is more to it than CS:S and COD4 which are essentially both search and destroy (bomb planting). The UKeSA will hopefully raise the general awareness.

I'm sure we can maintain the position. I think now that everyone is aware of the competition, and the rules, hopefully all the teams signed up will continue to play in it, and more teams will spectate and want to enter next season.

I have to offer huge thanks to all those who contributed to paying for other teams, showed real committment and maturity, and it's paid off. The CSS community is full of 15year old, egotistical and raging kids who can't pay money and get organised for shit. I'm not surprised that we beat them, but we will have to work hard to stay in.

We've just got to prove now that TF2 takes more skill than CSS and is a better game to watch :) Bring it on

Well - as long as we have the same kind of people in the community next season, it shouldn't be too much of a struggle.

CSS will inevitably beat us next time round - if that scene actually gets organised, we'd be miles behind it. It's not a huge problem though - I'm confident we can beat CoD4 and CS1.6 time and time again.

Let's just hope nobody fucks skre off before next season :D
